One of this year’s Marketing Team challenge was to find a new photographic solution for our Core Product – Wire Harness. YAZAKI’s product, even though it’s relevance in the functioning of a vehicle, is still hidden from our common eyes and therefore a somewhat invisible product.
For that reason, the Marketing Team in Portugal, partnered with AIESEC, the world’s largest youth-led network. In Portugal, the organization held “Leadership Tournament” - the largest national university leadership tournament, which highlights Portuguese universities for innovation and differentiating being a stimulator and catalyst of the leadership spirit, in order to help the leaders of the future.
Through a series of challenges, the tournament seeks to discover and reward the brightest Portuguese minds, thus making it more than a contest, but a development and projection of student’s soft skills through the solving of Case Studies related to business strategies defined by partners.
This year, YAZAKI, as AIESEC’s partner, presented a photographic concept case study, to make YAZAKI’s invisible product visible, visually appealing, with an appearance that would make it look futuristic! Students would have to present a creative concept for displaying a Wire Harness that would be photographically possible.
One at a time, 25 teams of 4 elements presented there incredibly daring and creative ideas in 2min pitch sessions, at the University of Aveiro. During an hour, Miguel Duarte, Portugal’s marketing team manager, along with AIESEC’s President, Sara and the Aveiro’s University Marketing teacher - Susana Marques – were the juris of this successful event, who prized “EGI Girls” team, a group of four Industrial Management Engineering students for their differentiating concept.
